Take Back Your City - Laura Colquhoun for Alderman at Large

This election gives the Nashua residents a chance to take back their city. Vote for candidates that will hear your input and act on it.

It is also important that the Nashua residents get an open and honest official in office that will tell the Nashua residents the truth.

The current mayor has not told the residents about an assessment drop in commercial properties of approximately $100 million dollars that will directly affect the residential taxpayers. The City of Nashua has already returned approx. $5 million dollars to the commercial properties for abatements that go back to 2018.

Nor has the mayor told the residents that the City of Nashua was unable to raise private donations of $4 million dollars for the Performing Arts Center and therefore had the new PAC for the Performing Arts Center take out a loan of $2.5 million dollars.

This only happened because the mayor gave the building to this new PAC and therefore the NPAC, the new PAC, took a loan against a building that the Nashua taxpayers already had taken a loan out for $21 million dollars plus interest. The new Performing Arts Center now has a mortgage that if they default on the mortgage the Nashua taxpayers will have to come up with the money in order to keep the building.

It has also come to our attention that NPAC does not have to pay for property taxes. The property taxes will now be paid for by the Nashua taxpayers.

Once the building is completed, the City of Nashua taxpayers will be charged “rent” for a building that the Nashua taxpayers paid for. Does this make any sense?

The mayor and the Board of Aldermen were not looking at the best interest of the Nashua taxpayers. Please vote on November 2, 2021 and vote for change.

It is time that the Nashua taxpayers seat elected officials who are looking out for them.
